The oldest record on it is from 1560. It had layed an important role at the beginning of the Špitáker vein extraction under the Glanzenberg hill.

The adit Glanzenberg passes under the main street of the town. It is 500 m long and ends at the shaft Kaufhaus in depth of 32 m below the surface. The visitors continue descending down the Emperor's stairs to memorial tablets situated 40 m under the surface.
