Finissage of the “Sands of the Microworld” and “Vanishing Underground” exhibitions 26. 9. 2021.

The “Sands of the Microworld”, a monumental exhibition of the 2021 season by Petr Jambor, Jakub Roček, Jakub Nemec, Michal Žilinský and Tomáš Moravanský came to its end in the Jozef Kollár Gallery. The curator of the exhibition was Marianna Brinzová and co-curator Jakub Roček.
On the same day as the Sands of the Microworld, the exhibition of the young Slovak artist Ľubomír Slovinský: “Vanishing Underground” ended, too. It was selected by the Gallery Board from more than 30 projects sent by non-established professional artists to the Gallery’s „Open Call 2021”.

Programme of the Finissage:
2:30 pm: Guided tour of the “Vanishing Underground” exhibition (with the participation of Ľubomír Slovinský)
3:00 pm: Guided tour of the “Sands of the Microworld” exhibition (with the participation of Marianna Brinzová and Jakub Němec)
4:00 pm: Microworlds and their stories – social responsibility and artistic disobedience
(discussion)

The discussion brought together artists, curators, activists and practitioners. They talked about why the current global environmental crisis has become the subject of their work, whether they are optimistic about the future of life on the Earth, how important local action is in mitigating climate change, what the role of art is in raising awareness of the global environmental crisis, whether we can avoid ecological disaster, and so on.
